Parent Community Engagement at EtonHouse International School Wuxi
“Community Engagement” is key to a successful school system. Openness and service, illness are critical to the development of engagement. Effective community engagement requires that we strive to be a more open system, vcialis 40mg sharing our resources as well as our problems with the community as we seek their partnership. In addition, see successful engagement requires us to work together and this must be evident in the caring behaviour we exhibit toward our children and our community.
Education is a partnership and we require parental involvement through the Parent School Association (PSA).
The mission and focus of this group is for parents and teachers, who have a joint responsibility to work closely to develop the potential of their child’s intellectual, emotional and physical growth. Parental membership and positive participation and support of the school is critical to meet that mission.
The PSA is the backbone of parental involvement in our school. We need your help and participation. It is an organisation devoted to building a strong school
community here at EtonHouse. It is open to all parents of EtonHouse students.
As a community we enjoy United Nations days, family celebrations, and cooking classes to name but a few. The PSA organises these social events and fund raising activities as an informal and fun way to socialise while raising funds for others who are less fortunate.
Mission Statement
The Mission Statement encompasses all that the PSA works towards throughout the year.Believing that education is a continuing partnership process, and that the start and end ofthis process is not determined by the school bell; parents and teachers have a joint
responsibility to work closely to develop potential of their children’s intellectual,
emotional and physical growth.
To assist us in achieving this Mission, we will strive to accomplish the following
• To encourage and facilitate engagement with the community through school events
• To propose and undertake programmes and activities in line with IB Curriculum units developed by the school
• To recognise the multicultural and international aspect of the school and its host country
to develop the concept of internationalism.
Monthly meetings (Commencing October 2013) shall occur that are held at the school in the Conference Room with the Principal, PA, Business Manager and Community Liaison Officers. The agenda shall consist upcoming events organization, followed by a morning tea.
Follow up may take then as informally required to organise the specify of an upcoming event, such as International day. These events should consist of a day outline and action tasks with responsibilities. These should be translated and emailed within 24 hours.
